Art Contest for Youth: The Power to Change
Once again, MECCA and BRING will be teaming up to sponsor an art contest for youth K-12 at the Earth Day Celebration.
The theme this year is "The Power to Change."
how would you change the world to create a healthier Earth, or how would you create changes in your own life to make the Earth a healthier place.
Prizes will be awarded in each age category and work will be displayed at the Earth Day celebration. Prizes of $50 to top entry in each category, as well as certificates for free art classes at MECCA to runner up.
Age categories: K-2nd/ 3rd -5th/ 6th -8th/ 9th -12th Individual or group work may be submitted.
Submissions in any of the following media :
- Drawing and painting
- Collage/Mixed Media
- Photography
- Printmaking
Submissions should include:
- Youth's name
- Teacher or parent name and contact info (phone/email)
- School or program
- Grade level and age
Submissions must be ready to hang and delivered to BRING before March 31st.
The 10th annual Earth Day Celebration is scheduled for Saturday, April 19th, 2008 at the EWEB Riverside Plaza from 11 to 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
