Discover various method and materials used in creating collages. Experience with papers, paint, found objects, beeswax, and jewelry and create sumptuous 2D and 3D works of art. Most materials included.

For the beginner, this class will introduce you to the fine art of woodcut printmaking techniques. You will use a professional-grade etching press to create your own one of kind prints. All materials and tools included. Sets of woodcutting tools ($7) will be available for purchase at MECCA. Please come prepared with at least one drawing (any medium) or photograph to work from.

Using old plexiglass sign letters as covers, we'll create a highly unique art journal. Collaging, inking, glazing and painting each cover, then binding in unusual recycled papers to complete your new vessel for creative expression. Bring your imagination and creative visions to class!

Join us for some creative family time!

We offer hands-on recycle art workshops for kids on the first Saturday of each month. Drop in any time between 11am - 3pm. All materials are included for each workshop. We ask for a $3-$6 sliding scale donation per child. Each month features a different creative reuse project.

You can also come by during any open hours for uninstructed creative play time. Just browse our many arts and crafts reference books and then, for a donation, you can use the studio and materials on hand at MECCA to to create recycled arts and crafts. So if you're looking for something fun to do with the kids this summer, come on over to MECCA!
